Menu’s Hashira cluster pendant is a modern, stripped interpretation of a traditional Japanese rice paper lantern by design duo Norm Architects, Kasper Rønn and Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen. The minimalist shades made from a linen fabric create an intriguing contradiction: while they give the luminaire its sculptural, column-like form together with the visible structure, they also diffuse the light into an extraordinarily soft and ambient glow.
